ogof

Start a map

It opens straight away, in the editor, with no account and nothing to install. The map is stored in this browser — not on a server — so it is yours and only yours. Download it any time: you get a .canvas and its styling sidecar, the same two files the desktop ogof writes.

What ogof is

ogof is a map editor for the kind of maps you think with: value chains, landscapes, systems and the boxes-and-arrows sketches in between. You place boxes, connect them, group them and drill into any box to map what is inside it.

Your map is a file you can take anywhere

ogof's native format is JSON Canvas, the open .canvas format that Obsidian uses. What you download is a spec-clean .canvas file plus a small sidecar that keeps ogof's styling. Open the .canvas in Obsidian or any other JSON Canvas reader and your boxes, text and connections are all there.

No account, nothing to install

The editor runs in your browser and stores the map in this browser's own storage. There is no sign-up, and the map is not uploaded to a server.

Start from a method, not a blank page

Two templates set up the axes and conventions of established mapping methods, so you can start placing your own situation straight away: a Wardley map and an Estuarine map.
