ogof for Mac
The same editor as ogof.io, as a Mac app: every map is a file on your Mac. Open it from Finder, save it like any document, keep it wherever you keep your work.
Download ogof for Mac Beta · free · a disk image (.dmg)Install
- Open the downloaded
ogof.dmg. - Drag ogof onto Applications.
- Open ogof from Applications or Launchpad.
The first time: “Open Anyway”
The beta builds are not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so the first time you open ogof, macOS says it cannot check the app and does not open it. Allow it once:
- Click Done in that message.
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security.
- Next to “ogof was blocked to protect your Mac”, click Open Anyway, then confirm with your password or Touch ID.
On macOS 13 or 14 there is a shorter way: Control-click ogof in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the message.
That is needed once. ogof then opens like any other app, and the updates it installs itself do not ask again: each one is checked against our signature before it is installed.
Shared maps open in the app
When someone sends you a link to a map shared on ogof.io, open it on this Mac: the page offers to open it in the ogof app, and after the first time it does so straight away. The map becomes a file of your own in your maps folder; the person who shared it does not see your changes.
Requirements
- macOS 13 Ventura or later.
- A Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor — one download for both.
This is a beta
Maps you make now will open in the released version. No subscription, no mandatory account. Things will change and some will break; when they do, please tell us.
The app checks ogof.io for a newer beta now and then, and asks before installing it.
